Abstract

The Alt-Right is a far-right radical movement characterized by racially supremacist beliefs. It is known for engaging in violent extremism and has shown indications of participating in extensive disinformation efforts. “Alt-right” has historically utilized various online platforms and technologies to advance their agenda, disseminate their message, and recruit supporters. Alt-right communities frequently congregate on internet forums and message boards such as 4chan, 8chan (now 8kun), and Reddit. These platforms offer a relatively anonymous platform for disseminating discourse, enabling users to share extremist perspectives, planning events, and coordinating actions. Alt-right is known for using internet memes and humor to spread their message and draw attention in followers. They often employ humor and satire to render their ideas more appealing and accessible to younger audiences. Alt-right groups and individuals frequently resort to crowdfunding platforms like Patreon and GoFundMe to secure funds for their activities, which encompass organizing rallies, producing propaganda materials, and financing legal battles. Therefore, this article has mainly focused on how the “alt-right” proponents utilize technology to advance their movement and how it influences politics and security.
