The working paper intends to assess the efforts of Bangladesh, regional actors, the international community, and Myanmar so far for a safe, sustainable, and dignified return of the Rohingyas to their homeland, Myanmar who have living in the camps in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char, Bangladesh. Bangladesh has pursued Myanmar bilaterally, but the defiance and unwillingness of the Myanmar authority has always been the case. Bangladesh has continued its relentless efforts in the regional and global domains. Regional actors and the international community have also failed to create any pressure on Myanmar to take back its nationals. The protracted Rohingya crisis is not only creating security threats to Bangladesh, but also to the whole region. This paper calls for more concrete and effective actions from regional, and international actors to create more pressure on Myanmar to expedite the Rohingya repatriation process before the situation gets out of hand.
