CBGA Roundtable Series Held on “Youth Perspective on Bangladesh-India Summit 2022”

The KRF Center for Bangladesh and Global Affairs (CBGA) organized a Roundtable on “Youth Perspective on Bangladesh-India Summit 2022”. This is for the first time youth perspective on a bilateral summit was organized in Bangladesh. Young academics and researchers from different universities and think-tanks expressed their thoughts and perspectives on the Summit. The Roundtable was moderated by M. Aynul Islam, Research Director at CBGA. Professor Dr. Delwar Hossain presided over the session. A number of participants from different backgrounds attended in the Roundtable. The Roundtable covered six broad areas where the panelists talked over the growth and development of Bangladesh-India relations. From economy to trade and connectivity and strategic-security to water and energy issues, they analyzed the multidimensional scopes and prospects of the relations. Notably, they highlighted the issues covered in the summit and depicted the outcomes it brought about. In addition, the insightful remarks of the Chair of the session, Professor Delwar Hossain enthralled the audiences. He put forwarded three critical issues regarding the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India. Professor Hossain outlined that there is a growing level of cooperation in the relations. But, challenges and misperception due to historical baggage, misinformation, and negative representation of media are hindering to garner the full-fledged prospects between the two countries. These negativity and misconception should be removed for further development of the relations. The Roundtable was thought-provoking and perspective-driven in exploring the potentials of the relations between the two neighbors.
