Shinzo Abe: Remembering A True Friend of Bangladesh

The whole world is deeply shocked at the tragic assassination of the longest-serving former Japa- nese premier and a figure of enduring influence, Shinzo Abe. With his woeful demise, the world has lost a visionary and dedicated leader who worked as a bulwark for global peace and a Free and Open Indo-Pacific. The Government of Bangladesh condemned the heinous murder of Abe and has observed one day state mourning in his honor. Prime Minister Abe was a true friend of Bangladesh, who visited Dhaka in 2014 and pioneered the Bay of Bengal Industrial Growth Belt (BIG B) initiative for a deep-rooted Bangladesh-Japan Partnership.
