The Ukraine crisis has shifted the paradigm of global power politics with some difficult outcomes. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has evoked many challenges like sudden refugee influx, inflation and the price hike in the world market and possibly a shift in the international order. The emergence of the crisis lies in the historical confrontation between Russia and the West during the Cold War and its aftermath. The United States as a global hegemonic power yearned for reinforcing the unipolar world order which has been facing challenges from emerging power China and revisionist power Russia. On the flip side, Russian president Vladimir Putin longed for bringing back the glory of Russia that it had once enjoyed before its collapse.
