Boosting Trade with Northeast India: Importance of the Ramgarh Land Port

CBGA Policy Brief-10 Over millennia, India and Bangladesh have had historical, geographical, cultural, social, and economic relations. Bangladesh and India are working to improve land connectivity between India’s Seven Sisters. To boost secured and disciplined trade and business with neighboring countries, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formed the Land Port Authority in 2001. Undoubtedly, the development of land ports will boost trade relations with India by reducing logistics bottlenecks and supporting the adoption of modern approaches of border management.
