The relations between Bangladesh and Myanmar have progressed through periods of collaboration and conflict. Apart from India, Bangladesh’s only bordering country is Myanmar. It is the starting point for a land-based alternative to the maritime route to China and Southeast Asia. Geographical and cultural ties have existed between these two countries for centuries. These two neighboring nations have room to grow their bilateral economic connections. Both the nations undertook various constructive steps to enhance their relations in the early 1970s.
