The relations between Bangladesh and Myanmar have progressed through periods of collaboration and conflict. Apart from India, Bangladesh’s only bordering country is Myanmar. It is the starting point for a land-based alternative to the maritime route to China and Southeast Asia. Geographical and cultural ties have existed between these two countries for centuries.
